The Hutton Hotel is a sophisticated, music-inspired boutique hotel in the heart of Nashville's vibrant West End. Known for its upscale accommodations, exceptional dining, and the renowned Analog live music venue, the property delivers personalized luxury and authentic Southern hospitality. Team members enjoy the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, guest-focused culture where creativity, collaboration, and career growth are at the forefront.

Overview

At Hutton Hotel, we know Nashville is more than a destination—it’s a rhythm, a story, and an experience worth remembering. We’re looking for a Sales Manager who knows how to turn relationships into opportunities, opportunities into bookings, and every client interaction into a reason to come back.

The Role

Think of yourself as the producer behind the scenes—bringing the right people, possibilities, and experiences together to create something memorable.

As Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing new business, nurturing existing accounts, and building lasting client relationships. You’ll confidently sell Hutton Hotel’s distinctive Nashville experience, communicate the value of a premium destination, and turn qualified opportunities into meaningful revenue while supporting the hotel’s rate and revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Midwest & Incentive “set list.” Drive group sales across assigned markets with accountability for room nights, room revenue, banquet revenue, and overall production goals.
  • Create new business and turn prospects into clients. Consistently prospect, build relationships, uncover opportunities, and convert qualified business within assigned market segments.
  • Build your network and know your audience. Maintain a primary focus on Midwest and Incentive markets while developing relationships with incentive houses, third-party meeting planners, corporate clients, association executives, and key industry partners.
  • Grow the accounts already in your catalog. Manage assigned accounts with a focus on retention, account growth, rate growth, and maximizing total account value.
  • Find the next big opportunity. Prospect for local and national business, identifying opportunities that align with need periods, revenue objectives, and the hotel’s overall strategy.
  • Sell the Hutton experience. Position Hutton Hotel as a premium Nashville destination, confidently communicating the property’s distinctive value while protecting rate integrity and profitability.
  • Make every booking count. Evaluate opportunities based on dates, room block, rate, banquet spend, and total revenue potential, partnering with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to make sound business decisions.
  • Own the sales journey from first note to final encore. Manage the process from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, contracting, and turnover to the servicing team.
  • Keep the pipeline moving. Maintain an active sales pipeline, conduct consistent prospecting and follow-up, and accurately track account production, sales activity, and future opportunities.
  • Be the face of the hotel. Conduct client presentations, site visits, property tours, and relationship-building activities both in person and virtually.
  • Collaborate across the band. Partner with Events, Revenue Management, Marketing, and hotel operations to create a seamless transition from sales to execution—and uncover opportunities for repeat and incremental business.
  • Take Hutton on the road. Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and client appointments approximately 3–5 times per year, or as business needs require.
  • Hit the numbers and make an impact. Meet or exceed established goals for room nights, room revenue, banquet revenue, and other assigned performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Marriott experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in hotel, resort, destination, group, or hospitality sales.
  • Proven ability to develop new business while retaining and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to communicate and sell the value of a premium destination experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate opportunities based on rate, dates, room nights, banquet spend, and overall revenue potential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Revenue Management and other hotel disciplines to support strategic business decisions.
  • Highly organized with exceptional communication, follow-up, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned accounts, maintain an active sales pipeline, and consistently achieve revenue and production goals.
  • Comfortable working independently in a primarily remote environment while staying connected and engaged with the broader Hutton Hotel team.
  • Experience in Corporate, Association, Incentive, Luxury, or Destination Group Sales is preferred.

You don't have to be a Nashville native—but should either live in the area, be relocating to Nashville. We are looking for someone who can read the room, build the relationship, make the pitch, and bring the right business through the door.

At Hutton Hotel, every client is an opportunity, every event is a performance, and every successful booking is another great story in the making.
