Purpose

A day in the life!

As an Accountant at Davidson, your time will be focused on various accounting tasks.  A few of the primary activities include, but not limited to, daily bank reconciliations, preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining and updates vendors, account reconciliations, processing accounts payable invoices.  As part of our month end close, you will be responsible for reviewing and posting journal entries, preparing and approving multiple reconciliations and creating financial statements for a timely and accurate close.

Functional Prerequisites

• Degree from a four-year college preferred, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, double-entry accounting (debits and credits), accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, ownership reporting, critical accounting systems, cash management, capital expenditures.
• Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to act with urgency and professionalism in all matters
• Experience training entry-level team members, and new hires.
• Well organized and detail oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
